This portal highlights information about the problem of low health literacy and the impact it has on our ability to access, understand, appraise and communicate information in relation to health and diseases. It also presents possible solutions and lays out at set of achievable actions policy makers at different levels can take. We show how integrating health literacy in existing health policies can make a difference, and how more equitable healthcare can be achieved.
