IROHLA consortium
This web portal is a collaborative product of the IROHLA consortium. The University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) was the project coordinator of the consortium with 22 partners: academic institutions, health promotion organisations, network organisations for health promotion and healthy ageing, health insurance companies, as well as business companies operating in the health sector. The consortium covered nine countries, but because of incorporated network organisations it reached nearly all EU member states.
The broad interdisciplinary composition of the consortium brought together knowledge from science, practice and interest groups. The inputs of business companies were mainly in the domain of Information and Communication Technology communication strategies and innovations.
Unique collaboration
All partners contributed in the research and most partners provided information and text on health literacy activities, which were processed and amended by an editorial team. This unique collaboration made it possible to bring together so much information in a short period of time.
